Keyless door handle from AliExpress, Peugeot 508

Unread post by denis1304 »

Has anyone bought "AliExpress" keyless door handle and install them on your car?
What is the quality, does it still works?

I have a Peugeot 508 and my driver's door handle stops working when it is cool outside, so I am looking to replace it.
I could get it for €35 delivered from AliExpress. That is 15% of the price from local Peugeot service.

Thanks

For that difference, I'd get a genuine one - why take a chance to save a few £?

If the 15% figure is correct then the price of a genuine one is about €230 - hardly a few pounds, or even Euros, difference. In fact I'd go so far as to say it'd be well worth a punt.

Dealers price is:
- part 176 EUR
- painting 80 EUR
- install was not specified, but they said it would take 20 minutes... so 50 EUR

AliExpress part comes painted and I know how to install it. Have already ordered it and will let you know if it works.

I read it as "15% off" same as you Marc! But 85% off is what was intended.

I'm in same boat as Paul-R, worth a go at that price. (Caveated that I've never bought off AliExpress nor had any experience of cheap aftermarket keyless door handles either!)

I have bought a few things from Ali, and generally had a good experience, but their shipping can be slow (assume the worst estimated delivery date). But do check the feedback of the individual vendor.
I sometimes ask a few questions about the item to check that they are familiar with the product.

I misread it as 'off' instead of 'of'.

Let us know if it's anything like a genuine one.

Quality of production was looking so-so, but paint job was BAD. Looks like a used handle they tried to refurbish.
I would gloss over this if the thing was working, but it wasn't.
Got my money back and didn't need to send the item back.

An excellent result in the end. Pity about the delay due to the rubbish handle first supplied.

I'm not the least surprised - most of the stuff from that place is tat, but glad you managed to get it resolved.

I have spent €3000+ on the AliExpress, and have 95% pleasant experience on the site.
From that 5% bad experience, 95% off the time I get full refund, if the item is not as advertised, or partial refund for the rest.

Crikey you're one in a million in that case - I've had nothing but problems and struggled to get refunds for faulty goods that has taken months to resolve requiring intervention by PayPal in several cases to complete. I never had great expectations and would never buy anything of value from them ever again after the horrendous experiences I've had.

I have no idea how much i have spent on Ali express over the years but just checked my topchashback history (yes, you can use top cashback on Ali express) I have only been using top cashback for around 2 years & i can see i have spent at least £1,600 since then but have been using Ali express for a good number of years before that. I would have a rough guess at around £3,000 - £4,000 in total.
As long as you are not in a rush for it then ali express is the way to go for me.
I would agree with the above probably 95% good & any stuff i was not happy with/broken/ didnt arrive I have been refunded no problem. There is a dispute process That generally works no problem.
