Footwell airflow non existant

Hi my 2013 2.0 HDi won't channel air to the footwell. The blower works great through the screen and face vents but nothing to either side downwards. I can find info on here on faulty blowers and can see flap actuators and motors on ebay but so far no info on where they are positioned or even if, as various posts seem to suggest, the plastic gear teeth may be at fault not the motors. Any help or pointers much appreciated.
