DS5 - manual mirrors fold doesn't work

Hi guys,

Just bought 2017 DS5, fantastic car, but cannot solve a small problem.

While both wing mirrors fold when I lock/unlock the car, I cannot fold them using the mirrors cabin control switch. I can adjust the mirrors using this switch if I turn the knob left or right, but when I turn it in the central position and push down, nothing happens. Based on the car's manual that should fold the mirrors, but for some reason it is not. Tried with both ignition on and off.

Any ideas?

You may have a loose connector in the window/ mirror door pad control unit. Remove it carefully with some trim tools and make sure the wiring plug (s) at the bottom are firmly in place. These can become detached through shutting the doors repeatedly if they are not seated properly. A similar issue happened to me - where one mirror could be adjusted but not the other. The connector was loose.

Figured it out - the manual is wrong! It says to move the control down to fold and up to unfold but you actually rotate the control so that the line points down (six o'clock) to fold and turn it back up again to unfold

I've just checked the manuals and they all seem to refer to the rotary switch on the DS, so maybe you had a paper based manual with a typo.

I've looked at paper manual that came with car and online version and neither say to rotate switch to bottom. Anyway sorted now

Yes that's the instructions for the DS5 and on this vehicle it's always move the dial down to fold / up to unfold. All the online versions are the same.

On the C3 it had a dial, but required rotating 180 degrees to fold / unfold manually, but may PSA card have the mirror foldback control on the driver's door panel with the directional control switch that is moved down to fold. Glad your sorted the issue.

To clarify - I do have a DS5, so the manual is wrong or the switch has been changed? Either way, rotating the switch worked, as per the C3 instructions
