Taller 5th Gear for a 2009 Berlingo

Unread post by ocmil »

Hi all,

My 2009 Berlingo sits at about 2700 rpm when doing 70mph in 5th. I'd like to get the rpm down and have been looking at swapping a taller 5th gearset into my current gearbox. I am however struggling to find any information online regarding potential taller 5th gears. Does anyone have any information?

I suspect that maybe it is already a relatively tall gear but the final drive/diff ratios in the box bring it down a fair bit, in which case I'll find another gearbox to swap in.

Current box in the van has a 20DP47 code and the 5th gearset I believe is a 50/33.

Cheers

Did you manage to replace your 5th gear. I suspect you have a diesel. I presently hit 60 at 3100rpm as mine is petrol which means it's screaming trying to maintain motorway speeds. I would offer money for your old gearset once you have sorted your gearbox. Most of the racing suppliers offer taller gears but obviously these would be too tall for my needs
