No, that's the water ski tow line. It means a number of people can water ski simultaneously and no boats are required to be on the lake...

I have discovered these series of videos today "I drive a Classic" , Far too much for a dip in but it does have a rather unique feature at 1.55 is which is where I start the video. You only need to watch carefully for a few seconds for the effect, and you will not find this demonstrated anywhere else.

The unique feature of the Wolseley brand from the 1930's to 1975, the centre illuminated badge is switched on and off.

A straightforward start Jim, but over the course of X-Day will X prove to be a difficult letter to maintain the flow of the thread which as it comes nearer the end has seen a nice flood of contributions.

X does tend to be a relatively common tag on model names for cars/bikes. If you have a Fiesta XR2, an Escort XR3 or XR3i, A Sierra XR4 the X bit confers a bit of vroom vroom whoosh whoosh. Jaguar are not shy of the X either. Even the E-type is an XKE although you wont find it emblazoned on the chrome badging. They even have the quite nice-looking but much maligned X-type the Jaguar Ford Mondeo. So plenty food for the shutter-clicker on any walk, any car park visit. Nice even if the X appears within the badging like with the good old "deluxe" trim.

This will be a Jaguar X something or other in all its gorgeousness, and the number plate is X-day compliant in any case.
