Do spark plugs come in a set ?

Unread post by John-DS »

Anyone bought any spark plugs recently ? I am changing mine and ordered what I thought was a set and only got one 🤔 As far as I can remember you always got spark plugs in a set. You don't just change one.
I have looked at other sites and I cannot work out if you get one or a set ??

Available both as singles and sets. Normally should be pretty obvious on just the price (sub £3 likely a single plug?) But could be a bit a cheeky mis-marketing!

Thanks yeah I thought the same I paid £15 so assumed I would get a set but got one ( Euro car parts) I contacted them and the girl on the chat said she was sure I should have had 4 but would need to clarify. Not heard back yet as its the week-end but looking around at other online shops its not really very clear. Some say car needs 3 but doesn't say how many you get

Avoid Euro Crap Parts like the plague.
Dealer spark plugs are normally sold individually, i suppose its because the same spark plugs may be used in a 3 or 6 cylinder engine so no point in selling them in packs of 4.
ECP also price brake discs individually but will only allow you to buy them in pairs, it will automatically add 2 to your basket. cheeky marketing to make it look cheaper

If you can tell me the spark plug type I might have a new set here on the shelf that can go for the price of postage.

Yeah but surly when you put your REG in like they ask it would then tell you that you need the amount for your car. In my case 3 plugs.... its absolutely crazy they would send ONE plug as you would never need just one plig...

Euro Car Parts have earned themselves the nickname of Euro Crap Parts, and not just for the reason you have encountered. Personally I will use GSF (German Swedish French), and I have not been let down by them. If you sign up to their newsletter it will entitle you to the various discounts as they occur (which can be as much as 65% off).

That sounds great have you got the link please. ?

I am going to return my ONE spark plug for a refund.... I also found their customer service appalling. I used to use them years ago and they were OK but never again

Sorry I can't do that one, my plugs are Champion and there's no cross reference to yours.

When I worked at a garage we changed any damaged plugs with NGK 4 points no matter what. No need to gap them. If going for concourse events then obviously not.

hi guys
I've been looking for a while about fake plugs but I can't work it out.
in my clio mk3 1.2.
I put in plugs 10,000 miles ago.
becouse of my current hesitation at cold. I thought i would buy 1 plug from halfords.
to compare I've watched lots of videos on it.
my current plugs is a NGK LZKAR7B on the nut
is says M2X5 lower down it says japan.
my new plug is the same but the code on the nut is U530 lower down it say Thailand.
any ideas if this is fake. new plug from halfords.
I've contacted NGK but not received anything back.
