DS5 Hybrid ABS wiring diagram

Unread post by Mickg »

Hi all....

Its my first post here on FCF, so please be gentle with me!! My Diagbox has identified that my left front abs sensor was showing a permanent fault, so I have changed the sensor, but the fault is still there. I have what seems a common issue of the abs / esp / auto park brake warning lights on and have also lost the cruise control and hybrid system. Would anyone be able to help me with the wiring diagram or wire colours for the left front abs sensor as I think it may be easier to run new wires to the abs module.

Thanks in advance

Mick

It may be more helpful if you advised what the actual fault codes are as reported by Diagbox and pop your VIN up.

There are 2 wires, ignore the wire colours as these change, focus on the pins:

7001A: Left-hand front wheel speed signal
7002A: Left-hand front wheel speed signal reference

Hi Marc,
Thank you for your quick reply and your advice. I will try and see what wire has a fault. Would you happen to know what readings I should expect to see from the positive side coming from the unit
regards

Pin 1 = Wheel speed sensor supply (12V)
Pin 2 = Wheel speed signal.
ABS Sensor.PNG
(1) Wheel speed sensor.
"a" Magnetic target.
"b" Detecting cell.
"c" 14 mA.
"d" 7 mA.

"A" Air gap.
"N" North.
"S" South.
"U" Intensity of the signal.
"t" Time.
The wheel speed sensor is fixed facing a magnetic target with 48 pairs of poles.
The wheel speed sensor consists of an element sensitive to variations in the magnetic field and processing electronics.
The succession of north-south poles of the target switches the electrical output from the sensor.
The frequency of the switching gives the wheel speed information.

Hi,

Just wanted to give some feedback to the issue with regards to the ABS sensor and the wiring. My DS5 Hybrid had started to set off the various errors on the dash such as ABS failure, ESP not working, no auto handbrake, no anti roll back, no cruise control and hybrid mode switched off.
On my Diagbox, it identified the left front ABS sensor had a wiring fault and was shorting to earth. I fitted a new sensor, but the fault was still showing....so I thought I would now have the massive task of finding the needle in a haystack of locating a broken wire!!
It turned out to be the new sensor a very slightly different shape in connection plug internally and although it had felt like it was seated fully home, it was in fact not making a connection with the pins. A little reshaping with a junior hacksaw allowed me to get it to locate to its full depth and on first start up..all faults are gone!!

Thank you to Marc for your help and responses and I am glad I did not need to run a new wire in the end!!

regards
Mick

Thanks for the update Mick.

Was this the correct sensor? - as although many may appear visually similar, they are vehicle-specific. What was the part number you used incidentally?
