Abs fault

Hi all. I have a 2011 Peugeot 3008 and I am currently having problems with the (front left) ABS system. I have replaced the wheel sensor and also the wheel bearing and the ring sensor, but the ABS and ESP lights are still on. The wheel sensor has been checked and is fine, it seems as though the problem is above the sensor. Could anybody please advise. Many Thanks Tarquin

Have you driven the car since doing the work? If you have not, take her for a short drive. Some systems need to 'see' everything is working properly before clearing the errors, and the ABS system is one of these. When I replaced an ABS sensor on my Xantia (many years ago) the light remained on, making me wonder what I had done wrong. I had to go somewhere in the car, and as soon as she went over 6MP the error light went out.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I’ve taken it out for a drive, probably done 30 miles since. The mechanic that done the work only does mechanical work and not the electrical side. He did do a diagnostic and there is no current going to the sensor and he cannot resolve this issue

At least with the front sensor it's nearer the ESP ECU, so you'll need to check the wiring back to the ESP / ABS ECU.

Ok, here you go. The front left ABS sensor is 7810. The ESP ECU is 7800.

Wiring
7002G: Left-hand front wheel speed signal reference
7001G: Left-hand front wheel speed signal

Thank you for the diagram Marc. Is the ESP/ ECU 7800 the ABS module or is it the wiring next to the battery?

Evening all. I made a post last year in regards to a ABS/ESP problem I had on my 2011 Peugeot 3008. I have still been using the car, off and on as I have a works vehicle that I use. 2 weeks ago I went to a reparable mechanic that a family member put me in touch with, he has replaced the wheel bearing as it was incorrectly fitted by another mechanic and also put on a new sensor cable. For exactly 1 week the light stayed off then came back on again for a short while then went back off, today the light came back on and has stayed on I’m at a loose end with this one and I am due a mot at the end of the month, can anybody please advise me further so that I can make suggestions to my mechanic. First thing is to get a proper diagnostic and put any fault codes up here. Be aware that generic code readers may not be able to read all the systems.

Once we know what it's complaining about you'll have a better idea. If it's not the sensor then it may be the ABS ring that's corroded - but this is a pure guess without any fault codes and time is not on your side.
