Brake light sensor problem

Unread post by Philo3008 »

Hi everyone.

Just bot a 3008 2010 Premium pack 3 weeks ago.

Last week after driving 40 km without any problem i stop de car and when i turn on again after a few meters' gearbox fault appear on the central screen with brake, esp light and next to the D the S and snow blinking.

So as Doctor YouTube say i play with the brake sensor and everything back to normal.

Yesterday once again same problem, so i decide to replace the sensor. I went to my dealership and ask for an OEM sensor .As i show him the parts and the S.N he said that he has the same parts but the s.n is different but working also.

OLD SENSOR 96 704 305 80 OEM
NEW SENSOR 98 182 324 80 OEM

I check for this new S.N and yes same part with 3 different S.N for my car.

So yesterday i replace the unit but something wrong happening.

Everything works opposite as it should.

Gear is stuck if you presse the brake pedal. if you release the pedal the gear is free.

No break lights if you push the pedal, light on when you release the pedal.

Electric hand break also stuck and when you press the pedal message appear with "Press the brake first".

I really don't know what to do.

So please if someone can help me it will be great.

Best to all.

Philip.

Hi, I would say you have been given the wrong part. The switches are either normally open or normally closed, you need the opposite to what you have.
