It looks a bit like a heavy duty ball for dogs that you can put a few food items in, that they have to work at to remove (mental stimulation).

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
James is right . The bluebell was by the riverside in its splendid isolation, and in the water was that orange and blue ball which I couldn't resist fishing out. Once fished out I thought I'll just put it next to the bluebell, after all orange and blue are very nearly opposites on the colour wheel and make for a bright picture when in juxtaposition.

Nice Work Mick.
Hands up if you have a tin of Dubbin in your house. The world wide demand for dubbin must have dropped off a cliff when the leather casey was superceded. Dubbin-ing the balls was part and parcel of 60's school football.

More Wren POTD from Choice (a)
Now what elevated the humble Wren to be chosen for the important role of appearing on a one-time coin of the Realm

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
As far as I can find out there were moves to put creatures with royal association onto the British coins, and the wren was included. The reason it was on the farthing is for the simple reason of the smallest bird on the smallest coin.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
The challenge has been laid down, surely someone has a farthing lying around somewhere. I don't think I have though at one time I had quite a few.NewcastleFalcon wrote: 01 May 2023, 13:27 I can offer 100 point for anyone to bring to the thread an original picture of a farthing which remains in their possession in 2023. Yes a creative shot would be more interesting than this stock image of a farthing. Think interesting or unusual backgrounds...

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Wren's famous shoe polish and dubbin firm, ditto Kiwi, and yes there is one tin of Kiwi Neutral at Chez falcon, like the little "catch" for opening the tin.
Of course to stick with Category (a) of my POTD contributions, the background was deliberately selected...

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
The Kiwi tin I found in the garage and posted on the All Our Yesterdays thread has the same opening catch. They should have kept that and maybe vaseline tins would be easier to open!
