2015 cactus firmware upgrade help needed

Hi there,
I have a 2015 Cactus C4 82 hp

My firmware version is > SMEG5.2.C.R1
CD26050

My questions are:
1:Do I need to upgrade in increments to go for the 2016 version then to 2017 and so forth? or I can jump straight to the latest version?
2:Alternavt5ivly - should I just leave it be - and go for an Android auto wireless adaptor from amazon?
(Which one?)

I just want to be able to see Waze or mirror my android phone to the screen.

These versions do not support CarPlay or Android Auto (Mirror Link is no longer Supported by many phone companies and vehicle systems now). You can't update these older SMEG systems to make them compatible. Only the last production run had Connected NAV systems (2018-2019) as an option.

Second, So what option do I have, apart from hanging an Android mobile phone from the car`s ceiling?

Well you just can't do that with this older system. These units are very much integrated into the vehicle, so if you remove it or replace it you'll have issues and will loose control of vehicle functions.

So yes, you may well need to get a mount and use your phone for things like Waze.
