Re: Trivia Investigation Team
Of all the Whiskys in all the world Mick chose this one as a proxy for guaging the value of the BB Clio, originally bought for 6 bottles of Wine, but now appreciated in value up to a case or two of whisky!
Do we know anything about it

Re: Trivia Investigation Team
My father was not a drinker of any sort and he only ever had a tipple on family birthdays, Easter and Christmas. Glenfarclas was his chosen drink and one bottle would last him 3 or 4 years!! He introduced me to it on my 17th Birthday and I have only had it a few times since but I can say without doubt that it is the smoothest, mellowest and warmest drink I have ever had. He originally discovered it when on a walking holiday in Scotland just after the war and as far as I know never drank a different brand from then on. You can get 35 year old if you have a bottomless bank account!!
Edit: My niggly brain tells me he had a more regular supply of Glenlivet in the house for guests and he may have had the odd tipple on a Sunday but I'm not sure!!

Two interesting items in the video.

Neil
The Tasting room at Glenfarclas came from the Empress of Australia Liner which has its own story told here
and the odd title for the whisky selected to commemorate 150 years of Glenfarclas
£511.19s0d

Re: Trivia Investigation Team
An interesting story and a crop of "whether you like them or not is irrelevant" head turning interesting vehicles, open-tops and estates.
The recently explored Ford Fiesta Fly over on the Open Top Motoring thread, if the flyer is right, looked to be an "option" through Ford Dealers.
Here's one of their lesser known Estate offerings

Re: Trivia Investigation Team
The Fiesta Fly looks a million times better with the roof and windows down
And that 3-litre Austin estate... I'm just thinking of how many bikes I could put in there
A cargo area the size of a small lorry!

Re: Trivia Investigation Team
This really is an excellent resource for a paddle through for all things Crayford.
All stemmed from a flat owned by David McMullen one of the founders ( the other was Jeff Smith). In 1959 both David and Jeff were working at Lambretta-Trojan in Croydon. One of the projects they were both closely involved in was the development of the Elva Courier sportscar, a fairly recent FCF appearer.
I liked the snippet as to why they were called Crayford, with no premises in the company's story in Crayford itself.

NeilDavid had a flat at Bexleyheath. The flat telephone was on the Crayford exchange, and answering the phone with the word 'Crayford', the name soon stuck and so Crayford became the name of their as yet unborn Company.

Re: Trivia Investigation Team
I have seen a few Crayford Corsairs appear at auctions, but the search for Crayford in the title hasn't produced any from this Glenmarch Search. Many Cortina Mk II, the odd mini, the famous Wolseley Hornet Heinz 57 Competition conversions.

Loving the yellow both the Crayford Cavalier and Cortina
The Cavalier looks good but then again, the Series 1 Cavalier was a very good looking car - possibly the best looker of the series...,

What is it![]()
Its made out of concrete, pretty heavy, with a pretty small diameter of "hole" through the middle.
A simple "roller"![]()
What are the full "words" likely to be
We have "IRON" in plain sight and "ETE" and probably the start of another "I" or an "N" then another "E"
NeilIs there a similar image on the World Wide Web![]()

The letters simply read "Ironcrete" and it is a garden roller probably from the 1930's.
Go on have a simple duck duck go enquiry, or some other search engine of your choice, or have a dip into graces guide and bring back some more related "Ironcrete" trivia to the thread. Much more interesting taking an active part.
