The nice pink glow from the Pixo will get better as darkness falls

That's a good idea NeilNewcastleFalcon wrote: 31 Mar 2023, 18:08The nice pink glow from the Pixo will get better as darkness fallsYes I did shove a blanket over the dashboard and my head, to simulate darkness at 15.40 in my photo of the Micra dash!

I'll get Pix's dash when it's dark as the pinky/red glow does look quite pleasing

Re: Interiors and Dashboards (interesting and awful!)
I liked the cockpit of the merc EV shown about half way through this thread, it genuinely looks like a spaceship in a game I used to play,

And talking of spaceships, I've always loved 90's TVR interiors, they look so organic and abstract:

I'm not going to comment on video screens used as instrument clusters, as you can put anything you want on those screens, as can be seen on the multitude of "themes" available for the aftermarket one I am saving for to fit to my BMW:
But I will comment on physical clusters, and I'm surprised that in the preceding 28 pages, noone's brought this up, given it hails from one of our three marques; the third generation Citroen C5 (X7) cluster is, IMHO exquisite:

It's hard to see from that picture, but the needles orbit around the circumference of the guges, and point inwards, best seen on the fuel gauge to the left. intelligent use of the 3 screens contained in each gauge face gives a plethora of information, such as oil and water temperatures etc. It's interesting to look at, and also informative, and intuitive, a great piece of design.
The X7 speedo comes a close second to my all time favourite speedo, which is found in the Toyoata Altezza and it's less performance oriented luxury upbranded sibling, the Lexus is200:

There was an alternative arrangement:

Later iterations of it also had a screen in the bottom right corner:

To me that speedo cluster is like an expensive wristwatch, and, YES! That tacho does need to go to 10,000rpm.

This image https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/VwEAAOSw ... s-l500.jpg didnt display on my machinery Jay but the URL ref takes you to the page.Jay-Bruce wrote: 02 Apr 2023, 22:54 I liked the cockpit of the merc EV shown about half way through this thread, it genuinely looks like a spaceship in a game I used to play,
Nice debut on the thread, it's accumulated a decent bit of content, but always more to find
I would regard "Lights Interesting and Awful" as a sister thread to this one, have a look and see if you can come up with some additions. This was the thread-starter from yours truly in 2018, and 21 pages have been accumulated so far

They haven't done the static photo's yet for this Citroen GSA which Bobins picked out here from the Mathewsons building catalogue for their April Sale later this month, so here's a screenshot from the video... Enough of interest in the GSA interior and dashboard, and a surprising nice touch of tartan on that upholstery.

Mathewsons have now shoved up the photos, as well as the video for the Citroen GSA so its time to bathe in the glory of the tartan-trimmed doorcard.

I trailed this TR7 a couple of weeks ago
They really should have upped the colour saturation for a more dramatic effect
Neil
and now the pictures are loaded up.
Very nice too, but what on earth were Triumph thinking of with the upholstery. I enjoy the quirkiness of the usual TR7 tartan, I would still call this interesting in an odd, shocking sort of way but...

I don't mind the actual, it was the enhanced version my comment was aimed at!CitroJim wrote: 13 Apr 2023, 10:41 LovelyI have a real soft spot for the TR7... And that interior is just so bonkers it becomes magical... Sorry Mick, I know you're not a fan...
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Over on Zel's blog here
viewtopic.php?p=754579#p754579
he put up a little teaser of a forthcoming aquisition. Of course I couldn't resist, but have got nowhere apart from a brief American diversion in the Oldsmobile direction, and a Daf33 probably vastly different ends of the spectrum.
All will no doubt be revealed shortly by Zel when he takes possession but for now this is all there is to go on...
..and if you do happen to take up the search at this stage and come across some nice/interesting dashboards...fill the thread with them. The Daf 33 is obviously the wrong answer but the image is nice so might as well show it off!
