A Parking Attendant's (Traffic Warden's) dream!! How many highway code breaches are being committed here?
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

I didn't think owning a tediously boring white Ford is an offence... Or is it? If not then perhaps it should be
Seriously, I think I might see the fourth and if I'm right - which maybe I'm not - the second car in the picture is committing the same offence...

POTD Brick of the Day
Always nice to find a new one, and these make a nice pair, or a nice gift for the Jones Brothers, and I do happen to know twin brothers of that name

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
It doesn't appear to be an offence - as such - to park facing oncoming traffic, although the Highway Code does say 'Do Not' (as opposed 'Must Not').mickthemaverick wrote: 12 Apr 2023, 17:40 A Parking Attendant's (Traffic Warden's) dream!! It is, however, an offence to do so during the hours of darkness.
The basis of the relevant C&U1986 legislation says:
"Parking in darkness
101.—(1) Save as provided in paragraph (2) no person shall, except with the except with the permission of a police officer in a uniform, cause or permit any motor vehicle to stand on a road at any time between half an hour after sunset and half an hour before sunrise unless the near side of the vehicle is as close as may be to the edge of the carriageway. "
However, there are a number of sub-clauses.
https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/198 ... n/101/made
It isn't - as such - specifically an offence to park that close to a junction. It is however - wonderfully - an offence to.....
"Leaving vehicles in dangerous positions.
If a person in charge of a vehicle causes or permits the vehicle or a trailer drawn by it to remain at rest on a road in such a position or in such condition or in such circumstances as to [F1involve a danger of injury] to other persons using the road, he is guilty of an offence. "
RTA1988
https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1988/52/section/22
And....
"Obstruction
103. No person in charge of a motor vehicle or trailer shall cause or permit the vehicle to stand on a road so as to cause any unnecessary obstruction of the road. "
C&U1986

So when it comes to parking too close to a junction - it's a case of: 'Oh yes it is' 'Oh no it isn't'
As Homer Simpson says: 'That's for the courts to decide'
Bet you're glad you read all that. ........or possibly not

They should just take him out and shoot him anyway, just to be on the safe side.
