3008 1.6 hdi manual slipping clutch after replacement

Unread post by rafsi »

I have a request for help regarding the following topic:

Peugeot 3008 1.6 HDI, 2013, manual transmission (NOT semi-automatic), mileage 155,000.

After the clutch started slipping in 5th and 6th gear and then jerking occurred in 1st gear, the matter was verified by a mechanic and a replacement of the clutch discs, pressure plate, release bearing, and dual-mass flywheel was carried out.

After the replacement, the clutch still slips in 5th and 6th gear (perhaps even more), although the problems with jerking when starting have stopped, but overtaking on the highway is almost impossible.

The system is fully hydraulic, there is no cable that could adjust the clutch. There is also no clutch pedal that could wear out. In my opinion, it is not a matter of air in the system, because in that case it would not disengage, but slip - am I thinking correctly?

I know that in an automatic or semi-automatic transmission, adaptation of the clutch bite point is necessary, but is it also necessary in a manual transmission?

If anyone has access to the manual for this car, is there any procedure regarding the adaptation of the clutch using a computer after replacement?

Has anyone had a similar problem, any suggestions?

Your issue could be an oil leak (crank case oil seal) which is allowing leaking oil to contaminate the clutch friction plate and this causes slipping in higher gears.

It happened to me after a clutch and DMF replacement on my C5 X7. That is what caused it in my case.

After the repair to the crank case, it needed a new clutch.
