It would be an excellent and interesting project but it is a first gen electric car from 1999, original spec NiCad batteries but a far simpler car than even the first generation of lithium Ion cars.

Wow! If I were in France I'd be all over that Mike... Sadly, nowadays post-Brexit, importing a vehicle into the UK is a difficult and expensive process since the NOVA process was changed to disallow individuals...

Would love that, if only as a plaything...

I fear it might cost as much again to import and register here

Burns coal, has a little steam turbine spinning an alternator to drive a traction motor... Does 20 to the gallon - of water... Sorry, flippant mode now turned off

On Sunday I'm running 50K (33 miles) in this event

So I'm now in the rest and taper phase of my preparation...

I'm looking forward to what will be a fun day of muddy and wet trail running in the company of many like-minded ultra runners.

Yesterday was dominated by running a 50K Ultra Marathon in a very muddy and soggy Salcey Forest

It was absolutely awesome and huge fun...

Pictures speak louder than words...

Those last three just give a small flavour of the mud... Think of brown double cream mixed with quicksand and you're not far off

It was truly epic and happily, this morning I can still walk! I'm soon off out for a recovery run

Now in training to run a 50 mile Ultra as my next big one...

I'll be catching up on the forum latter, lots to do first...

That's a great thought Steve! Several were using poles intended for Nordic Walking... Not unlike the ski variety

I've booked myself onto a 40 mile Ultramarathon today...

It's one I know as for the past two years I have volunteered at this event and last year ran one of the aid stations...

It leaves Rugby via the old Great Central Railway trackbed and then after skirting around Draycote Water and the M45 it then heads toward Leamington via the Grand Union Canal towpath and more disused railway trackbed... It then heads back to Rugby along the same route... I may get to see some classic cars if one of the canal-side pubs happens to be hosting a gathering... They allegedly do around the village of Long Itchington...

It's mostly off-road light trail and promises to be less muddy than Sunday was The biggest danger is falling into the canal!

Looking forward to it... 40 miles is a useful step up from 50K and a good springboard for my eventual 50 mile target.

Gosh, rather you than me! And to think they only pay you £55 for running all that way!
