Re: Picture(s) of the day....
It is confusing as I have a daughter Lilly too. Except that she is called Laura but always goes by Lilly, most think it is her name. Stemmed from my eldest son calling her "Little Lilly" when she was tiny.
Then he married a Lily, just to complicate things more.
The other Lily is long gone.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Only 99 more posts to go before POTD hits 10,000 posts (9999 replies).
If we examine the thread title it is Picture(s) of the Day. Really to achieve any sort of credibility it needs at least one a day, and at least 2 on some days.
But surely we don't deal in "at leasts" on the FCF. So here's the challenge.
This is post number 9902, task much easier now 98 to go....here's an easy tip if you like a photo someone has bothered to put up, be inspired to go out and post one of your own or at least makes some sort of comment on it. I have been a fairly active like-button clicker myself but not any more, its a bit too passive for my liking (literally

By Midnight on 30th April 2023 I would regard it as abject failure if the FCF faithful with their cameras, their phones, their vast archives of photographs, do not achive the milestone of 10,000 not out.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Best I can do today...
My trail shoes once again clean after yesterday's fun in the mud
And a short, easy recovery run early this morning followed by a bit of TT training on the bike...
I'll try to pop something in regularly to see we hit the target!

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
A dismal offering but apart from the Peugeot E-206 the only other pic is this.
Had a couple of spare nine-metre LED tape strips so chucked one of them in the dreaded attic, so we can see even better what a load of crap there is up there.

It's what I use mine for
One day, all those NOS Xantia spares and vintage radios I have stashed away will make me rich beyond my wildest dreams...

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
I have a more unusual picture today. My Spurs supporting mate was raving about Kane's 'brilliant' finish last night and I had to point out that it was lucky as he shinned it in, my mate didn't believe me so I set about proving my point!!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

My challenge may not have been challenging enough, rattling along nicely.
Post no 9909 , 91 remaining to the 10,000 landmark
This is not a picture of two doves and a satellite dish.
It caputures perfectly the 5.30ish ambience today. The sun is literally warm on your face and those two content doves are just having a mindfulness moment bathing in the joy of a warm sun, gently lighting up the soft tones of stone wall of their chosen perch. The satellite dish is of course an aberration.

Talking of sun warm on your face, I vacuumed the car and would have washed it but chickened out as it was too chilly.
Checked the temperatures when I read the electric and gas meters and it was 32° in the garden (direct sun) but 7° on the north side of the house.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Countdown to 10,000 posts...POTD Post 9911 (reply 9910)
Bit of a random effort from geograph from the 16,509 images submitted to the Geograph website by Dr Neil Clifton.
In his profile I like his description..."I know that many of my images are very boring, but they are purely record images, as I photograph the mundane rather than the spectacular."
One of the "play about features" on the Geograph Website is "On this Day" which lists year by year the images taken on "todays" date. I selected a year at random from 1948 to 2022, and up popped 1951, which as it happened had an image loaded up by our Dr Neil Clifton and yes fitted in nicely with his own description
So bit of randomness, bit of personal selection I have selected this out of his 16,509 images as appealing to me. If Gibbo has ever been to Tintern, he may recognise the location. I like a Signal Box.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
A blast from the past. IMO this is a great idea but at this time I think there is only one company that still sells this: returnable glass bottle 1 liter sparkling water. I like this as there is no plastic contamination and the waste is minimal (only the metal cap, which is recyclable). This started back in the dark years but I am pleased to see it's still an option today.
The cost is 2.2 lei / 0.44 Euro / 0.39 GBP pe bottle (you have to provide an empty bottle). There is also a little bit of variation on the bottes - both shapes and colors. I do not have any information if this kind of bottles are available outside Romania, I know there are a lot of single use glass bottles options but not returnable.
Original shape in green: Modern shape in green: Unknown shape in green: Modern shape transparent: There is also a brown color and "beer bottle" shape I do not have pictures of

I walked into the bathroom in my semi comatose state this morning and did a double take! For a moment I thought SWMBO had left a baby elephant in the shower!
