Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
Just in case you were wondering, in the end I didn't need to remove the injector. The problem turned out to be petrol in the diesel fuel. So, problem swerved.

Not so bad unfortunately mine was stuck closed but after a good beating with a slide hammer it decided to stick open.

Darren,
You will get it done. Sometimes a stop and a think about it, do another job helps clears the mind and a solution becomes apparent.
Excuse the pun but bash on and all will come good in the end.

Yolk? Yellow? Runny or hard boiled?

Runny of course
although I think we might be confusing it with Another yellow food that leaves a bitter taste

Unfortunately I just can't get the injector out. I will have to call the cavalry and hope it will come out for them. I think the 8 ton was too weak. I spoke to a chap yesterday he said he knew a fella who tried to pull with block and tackle ended up damaging the roof he had it fixed to in the words of Fr Jack, gobshite

You did yes, it was worth a shot.I have achieved a lot over the years by experimenting and by letting others know it won't work helps them to move to alternative solutions.

Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
Just a quick update I borrowed a 50 tonne puller from a friend and it didn't pull it.It successfully bent a 16mm rod though. I will be calling a specialist at the end of the month who can if necessary drill it out in situ. I also pulled the passenger side drive shaft because the boot was leaking grease. Tried to separate it, no joy. It must be a gkn I tried removing the spider end doesn't separate either. Ended up stretching a boot on to it. First time it actually worked for me normally rip them.

Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
I rang a guy today and he quoted between €200 and €500 to remove the injector. He said most probably 500 difficult injectors to remove. Ain't paying that i am going to pull the engine and try the 50 tonne again if that doesn't work I'll pull the head and get my mate to mill it out . I m going all in now

Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
Hi lads, I pulled the engine out to get a better pull on the injector. I plan to do some other jobs such as the steering rack while I have it out. A few pics for you all. I need to make the puller stronger so I am going to get some of the fabricators in work to weld it up as strong as possible.
