Newbie - anyone near Swindon/Cirencester with Diagbox?

Hi all,

New member joined today, helping my 17 year old daughter who has just bought a lovely DS3 1.6HDi 120 Prestige as her first car. As the budget of a 17 year old is tight, and as my children like diagnosing and fixing cars together with me, we took a punt on a 2-owner 153k mile example - lovely condition, full history, all the toys, and christened 'bumblebee' due to being black with yellow stripes.

I am hoping someone local with Diagbox would be willing to offer a little of their time, and willing to plug into my daughter's car. I intend to buy the kit it myself ultimately, but would like to see if it actually does usefully more than the diagnostics kit I already have.

Anyway, with this particular DS3 being leggy and at the cheap end of the market, I expected some issues to appear. No errors were present during the test drive, but of course 30 miles into our journey home, 'Bong' and 'Emissions fault - starting will be prevented in 700 miles' greeted us. Initially thought low AdBlue, but not that - have filled up (took 10.5l), and my diagnostics reader confirms that the car thinks there is 10l of AdBlue in the reservoir. Have followed the handbook routines (sleep >5 min, ignition/no-start >10 secs) following top-up, but no joy.

Perhaps strangely, there are no fault codes stored relating to this in any of the modules - have a known parking sensor fault code, and one for intermittent low fuel pressure but nothing emissions/SCR related.

My diag kit (ICarsoft Pro) happily reads lots of good live data from the DS3, though the upstream and downstream NOx values look suspect to me. Downstream reads an unchanging 200ppm, upstream reads zero but perhaps expected if there is only one NOx sensor.

Would like to see if Diagbox reads NOx values any better, and if any of the actuation/reset routines would work to help kick the SCR system back into behaving itself.

Hello and Welcome! There is indeed a list of members with Diagbox who could possibly help. Being new, however, you may need a bit of help from the Admin Team on this one until you are a bit more established. PMs and other features may need a bit of assistance to begin with. However, keep asking - it puts up your thread count. In the meantime, dive into everything else. A small tip. Use the search box ( black one, top left of the page at the bottom of the banner ) you might get some useful links in that.

If memory serves me well, DiagBox may be needed right enough, but search "Ad Blue" and see what comes up.

I see you have dived in. I have a bit of a hobby horse thing about battery voltages and ECU misreads. In your other thread, could you include voltage readings, both live and static, switched on and off, hot and morning cold. cheers.

I am 20 minutes west of swindon (Crudwell) and have v9.91 of Lexia. I am new to it having used it once on my daughter's DS3, so not an expert, but happy for you to come over and we can plug your vehicle in and go from there.

Note: if you are wanting to work on the 2019 Peugeot Boxer you have in your profile, it might need something additional hardware. The forum sponsor whom I bought my kit from states that commercial vehicles need something called a S1279 module - I don't know what that is, and assume I don't have it - https://www.easydiagnostics.co.uk/produ ... t-vehicles

Correct, it's an add-on hardware module required for PSA commercial vehicles that interfaces along the connection to provides communication with some modules of these vehicles.
