Replacing OEM stereo with other stereo but want to keep PDC

Unread post by nimo »

Hi,

I have a Citroen Jumpy from 2013 (I believe this one is called Dispatch in UK). It is an panel van turned into a camper.

The OEM stereo is (if I understand it correctly) a Blaupunkt RD4. I am in the process of replacing this with a double-DIN Nakamichi NAM1700 with reverse camera.

But now to my problem, replacing the stereo comes with at least two problems:
  • I will lose the possibility to setting the clock (and possible other vehicle settings)
  • Rear parking sensors (PDC) will stop working
So I have understood that what I need is a steering wheel interface controller. I have seen that Connects2 is a popular brand.

But now over to my question, if I want to keep PDC functionality: which model (other brands are also ok) should I choose for my car model?

Depending on equipment you may be able to change all your settings via the standard steering controls. I had a C4 originally with RD4 radio which i changed to an aftermarket unit so i could have proper USB functionality & bluetooth streaming etc. Every setting on the trip computer & setting clock etc could be done just via the original steering controls.
As for the PDC i dont really see the need if you have a camera? Again personal preference but if I had to give up the PDC for a far superior stereo system it would be no contest.
