Hi, just replaced my old Radio cassette player , with another, in my S2 Xantia. everytime I turn the car off, I need to pop the code back in! why does'nt it keep the code? thanks inadvance Terry.

It's loosing the permanent 12v 'memory keep alive' supply when the ignition is switched off Terry.
I've had it a few times where the ignition switched 12v and permanent 12v wires are reversed in the radio plug for reasons that are difficult to comprehend given it's an industry standard... Never the less, it does happen in my experience.
One is usually (but not necessarily) yellow and the other is red... Best to use a test lamp or meter to determine which is which...
