Xantia diesel radiator
After refitting head, radiator is burst GSF want almost £100 as I have a 93 diesel non-turbo with no A/C. 0000000000 list a rad for my car with A/C at £33, as they have excess stock but I have been assured it won't fit. I reckon the only difference is the mounting brackets, very unhelpful on the phone! Apparently my car shares a radiator with the 2.0 16V man no A/C Xantia. Anyone any ideas?

You're problem will probably be with the bottom hose, there are two or three different designs of bottom hose.
Some use the good old jubilee clip and the hose fits outside a stub on the radiator.
On other others the hose has a metal sleeve on the end, and this clips inside a plastic stub housing, a bit like a bayonet light bulb.
I don't see how you could bodge it if you get the wrong rad. And its not worth the risk of the coolant leaking out.
£100 is about right price-wise. Citroen would want at least double that.

Looking for diagrams of radiators, been on the Nissens website which is very useful. It looks totally different as the AC one has no built in header tank. It does look absolutely identical to 1.6, 1.8, and 2.0 8v rad up to 95 same fittings and dimensions, poss different cores. I am just loathed to spend £100 to find other things wrong with the car as I bought it a non-runner.

I had a fitting problem with an XM radiator as described by ralph. the one I ordered came with the 'snap in' fittings, mine has the jubilee clip type. There was no way I could fit it as the bottom connection was at the wrong angle, apart from not having the right fittings. There just wasn't room to to an elaborate modification.
The problem came about because although mine was registered in '96 it was actually made in '95, just before they changed the radaitors.
