I've still got the old lamp if you want it Jim. I changed it because I thought it was faulty and for the lower energy consumption, turned out the cable was o/c.

It's OK, there's no train coming - the lights are off and the barriers are up
Definitely keep hold of it Peter, they're rapidly becoming sought-after - I'm not the only lover of LPS lampsPeter.N. wrote: 15 Feb 2023, 23:23 I've still got the old lamp if you want it Jim. A gorgeous sunrise over Bury Field this morning
Or is it? Especially as it's a bit overcast, windy and tending to rain...
Actually...
It's a high pressure sodium streetlight in the grounds of a retirement complex backing onto the common..
Just goes to show, once again, how a photo is not all it might initially suggest it is

You can't beat a row of old crocks for a photo, but as they were all behind the camera you'll have to settle for one of their cars!!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Today has been a busy day so only time for a short bike ride to get a little more TT training done... So warm today I could ride in just a trisuit and mitts. My first ride with bare arms and legs in 2023 and I was not cold at all...
Quite a sky!
The bridge is over the River Great Ouse and was closed for several months at the back end of 2022 after being struck by a lorry.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
The thread needs no introduction but it does deserve some original pictures today.
Why
Apart from the ever present retaining the credibility to justify it's thread title, today it has been selected by the random hand of the FCF Archives February Ferret 2023.

A couple of years ago my neighbour had his tree cut back like that Mick, this is it today.

It is amazing to see how much the pollarding actually promotes the growth. These trees are taken back every 3 years and the fruit trees always produce more afterwards!!Gibbo2286 wrote: 19 Feb 2023, 13:10 A couple of years ago my neighbour had his tree cut back like that Mick, this is it today.
