Correct but more to follow after I celebrate or drown my sorrowsCitroJim wrote: 11 Feb 2023, 17:17 Food looks good!
I do like the sound of a Regularity Trial That takes a lot of skill and practice to get it right. I've done a bit of run pacing in the past and it's not as easy as it might sound.
A Treasure Hunt is appealing too. Back in the mists of time our Amateur Radio Club used to put on radio treasure hunts where using a car and suitable radio kit we'd have to locate a number of hidden portable radio stations using Direction Finding techniques in a given time. They'd normally be hiding at points of interest in the locality... Points awarded for speed of finding and number found...
Interesting on the Rule of 12. If these activities take place on public roads do the police not have to be notified? I ask as we have to for cycling Time Trials irrespective of number of competitors and we must have their approval. We also have to advise a backup course in case we cannot race our first choice that week.

Re: Just when you thought it was safe to relax
When we used to organise 12 car rallys we had to notify the constabulary whose area we would be in 21 days before the event. I probably was involved in running 50+ such events and we never had a response or query from the police. Occasionally we would get a patrol car turn up at the start or finish, usually out of the individual officer's interest, they had a chat and left us to it!! The other aspect was to notify in writing any residents whose properties were on competitive sections but to get round that we often ended a competitive before the house, ran a quiet zone which did not need notification, past the property and then started the next competitive section 100yds beyond!!CitroJim wrote: 11 Feb 2023, 17:17

Re: Just when you thought it was safe to relax
That's precisely as it is for our TTs... Not onerous at all and like yours, our local constabulary show no real overt interest and I can't even recall a patrol car ever turning up. However, it means we're properly 'covered' in case of a mishap.mickthemaverick wrote: 11 Feb 2023, 17:25When we used to organise 12 car rallys we had to notify the constabulary whose area we would be in 21 days before the event. No need of quiet zones with cycle events except at the start/finish where we have occasionally been requested to keep our banter down if it's in a residential area!

Re: Just when you thought it was safe to relax
Both of you are correct because both events are considered Speed Events on the Public Highway. I will go into the work rounds later.mickthemaverick wrote: 11 Feb 2023, 17:25When we used to organise 12 car rallys we had to notify the constabulary whose area we would be in 21 days before the event. Dave, that picture, and some of your previous ones, suffers from rotating when you click on it to enlarge. If you open the picture in paint and then rotate it if necessary and then save it again before uploading it will stay in the right orientation when clicked! Handy to know when posting portrait images!
