I recognised the red FIAT badge but couldn't think of a model like that in their range.
The "Reliable 850" made me think, one of my school teacher customers came in on a Saturday with a used 850 he'd bought from the dealer, "Got a good deal."
Monday he rang me up, "Could you rescue me the engine's making horrible noises."
So I towed him in, big ends were shot. The dealer collected it and offered him another form the showroom.
Wednesday I get a call, "Can you rescue me a wheels fallen off."
Towed him in again, a stub axle had sheered off taking all the brake shoes and cylinders with it.
Dealer collected it, loaned him a 124 said they'd fix it.
A few days later he went to collect his now repaired car, dealer said "We've fixed them both and you can keep both for your patience."

This is causing a lot of head scratching on the Birmingham history forum.

Looks a bit like a small steam engine cylinder and the top of the crosshead...

The hole on the top of the cylindrical bit looks a bit like a steam exhaust port - assuming the bit on the right hand side is the valve block... The presence of the blue-topped rod in a gland suggests it could be.

When I rounded the corner - its a very regular run route of mine - I couldn't believe my eyes it had finally been revealed in all its glory...

We must now redouble all efforts to solve Gibbo's snowmobile puzzle

Not much to go on there Jim, although it appears to have bulge the size of a side mirror off a bus!

Hope you know what it is and can feed us with some clues, I'm not going to get it from that pic. Doesn't look like the type of car I am likely to put in my interesting category. I'll have one guess pending clues, Volkswagen Golf mk1 4 door tarted about with.

I'll go along with Neil for a Golf but the exhaust suggests a VR6 to me?
