Nemo 2010 1.4HDi Glow Plugs
Simple question..... and please excuse my ignorance, but are the glow plugs on a 1.4HDi at the front or rear of the engine. What needs to be removed before you can access them ?
Im used to Fords and Landrovers, and this is week three on my Nemo..!!

Re: Nemo 2010 1.4HDi Glow Plugs
Yes, correct. You'll also need a plug removal tool.
Remove:
The bolts (/)
The clip (3) using circlip pliers.
The EGR connection pipe (2)
Disconnect the supply bar (4) at "a" and move it aside.
Remove the glow plugs (5) using the glow plug removal tool.

Do you actually need a specific tool, or will a long reach socket not do the job ?

Re: Nemo 2010 1.4HDi Glow Plugs
Does this engine have a specific name, just for searching purposes. Is it a Fiat engine, or a Citroen/Peugeot and is it shared across a few Citroen vehicles ?
Edit that, Ive just read its fitted in Ford Fiestas

Re: Nemo 2010 1.4HDi Glow Plugs
Parkers has a decent review and info.
Citroen Nemo engine options
At launch in 2008, the Nemo was available with a 68hp 1.4-litre HDi 70 turbodiesel engine and a 73hp 1.4-litre (non-turbo) petrol engine. Most buyers opted for the diesel, and it’s not difficult to understand why.
Though slightly down on horsepower, the diesel 1.4HDi has 160Nm of torque to the petrol 1.4i’s 118Nm – that’s a substantial difference in pulling power in a small van, making the HDi feel much livelier and more responsive, even though the official 0-62mph acceleration time is actually slower. Given both petrol and diesel take at least 16 seconds to make the benchmark sprint, you won’t be setting the road on fire, regardless.
The diesel also returns better fuel economy, though in small van terms the petrol doesn’t do too badly in this respect (see the running costs section for more info).

Re: Nemo 2010 1.4HDi Glow Plugs
You have a DV4TED engine.
There's nothing really Citroen about the Nemo, it's basically a Fiat as is the Peugeot Bipper. They're essentially all the same with cosmetic changes, but the engines can be different as well as the Head units.
The tool needs to be a long 6-sided socket for the glowplugs.
Yes the engine is used by Ford (Duratorq), Mazda, Fiat and PSA and even the DCi on Renault.

Yes, I've joined the Fiat forum, as I've read that its a Fiat vehicle, just rebadged. Is there a code for the gearbox as well. This one seems to whine more than my missus.....

Re: Nemo 2010 1.4HDi Glow Plugs
Marc, do you also have the procedure for replacing the aux belt tensioner ? I have replaced the alternator, and two rollers, but for the life of me, I couldn't get any tools into the tensioner to remove and replace it, its so tight. Its all working, but I really wanted that roller replacing... Once you add a torx bit on a ratchet, its too wide.
Also, is the engine timing belt an engine out job, as the space is also very restrictive. I dont need a mechanic, I need a gynaecologist....
At 96k I think I need to replace that as well....

I'll put something up in the members section when I get a few minutes and then I'll put the link here for you, but there's only a procedure for replacing the belt or the alternator.
Link:
