Hi I am a new member who lives down in Victoria Australia. I am 70 and have had Citroens all my driving life starting with a Light 15. Over the last few years I have been trying to bring up to scratch a 2.7 C6 which I will never sell but continues to be a somewhat testing relationship.
Like some other folk I have heard of, I have had a small weep from the hydraulic steering line for a couple of years with the intention to getting it fixed down the track with cost also being a bit of a hard pill to swallow. In retrospect I wish I had it fixed back then because I am now told by some suppliers that many if not most of the hydraulic lines are out off production and are no longer available. I am aware that some of them can be reproduced aftermarket however the steering one not so because of the internal valving.
There are very few C6s’ in Australia and I have hit a bit of wall as to how to proceed. After putting a post on the C6 Owners site it was recommended I post on this forum as someone might be able to steer me[ sorry about the pun ] in the right direction.
The details are as follows.
The Vin of my car is : VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff].
A workshop in Oz identified I need the following:
4014JA
4012F2
401376.
The only part that apparently is still available is 4012F2.
Some of the part suppliers suggested that my only option would be secondhand parts but to date this has also drawn a blank.
Any advice would be very welcome.
Regards John

Hi John and welcome.
I can advise you that as of today, 4012F2 (low pressure PS supply pipe) is showing as available on Citroen UK. The others are not.

Re: New member with C6 hydraulic issue
I suspect that the spare part numbers
4014JA
and
401376
have been replaced by new numbers because they no longer exist.
It might be possible to find this out from the current service hotline via the VIN of the vehicle.
Greetings Wolfgang

Re: New member with C6 hydraulic issue
There aren't any replacements offered by Citroen, Wolfgang - we only use live data and they are discontinued.

Re: New member with C6 hydraulic issue
Thanks for replies and advice folks, much appreciated. I have a lead from a French parts supplier who might have the JA part, ie the one with the vanes / valves in it. If I can acquire the JA part, an after market high pressure line company like Pirtek might be able to assist with the others. Will let people know how I go because this could become a critical issue for these cars in the future.
