Citroen Relay 2017, lost a key

Unread post by Aero1103 »

Hi.....soooooo lost my key fob and only have 1 key left (not a fob)

I want to buy a blank key fob from ebay at £20 and programme this using my Lexia3 software I bought years ago but haven't used.

I have the key access code.

Does this sound possible or am I missing something ? Can Lexia 3 do this ?

No, Lexia/diagbox wont program an aftermarket key to a Relay unless you also have a tool to write pre coding data to it first.
If you buy the key from the dealer the pre coding data is already written to the key so it will program straight in no problem with Lexia/Diagbox if you have the security code.
You must program all the keys at the same time.

You probably will also need the S1279 module, as vans were built in partnership with Fiat, so have a different communications setup. This module will sit between the Lexia diagnostic connector and the diagnostic port of the van.

If I get a new key from Citroen

And then find my old key afterwards

Can they programme the old key back in, or is the old key now useless?

Thank for the help

The old key can be added in no problem. Just make sure that every key you want to work is coded in at the same time. I think there is a maximum of something like six keys that can be associated to a vehicle.

Thats not actually correct, on the Fiat immo system any keys not programmed in the same session are permanently blocked & can never be used again, even on the same van.

Sorry, overlooked the fact that the vehicle was Fiat based. However I believe what I said applies to full PSA vehicles though.

Yes, PSA based systems the chips/remotes can be added back in no problem if they are not present when other keys are programmed.
Its only Fiat based systems that block the keys permanently.
