Don't think the 407 got the 1.4 HDi, smallest only the 1.6 in 110 bhp form.

307 got 1.4 and 1.6 HDi in both 90 and 110 forms. (And also the older DW10 in 90, 110 and later 16v 138 BHP forms

"Was pretty confident it was a car"

I shudder to think at what level of maintenance that might have endured!

A petrol 407 must be a rare beast indeed! Would guess 1.8 EW7 or 2.0 EW10 but beyond that not sure what petrol options were in the 407??

Mind you, the next level of "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing" is those folks who know there was "dturbo" and HDi diesels but are convinced the HDi did not have a turbo....

This is the thing if you play along with them, they haven't sold you the car , only the reasons not to buy from them. I'm not going to rush into a 407 yet, but would like to pay a lot less road tax then what i have been for to long.

I did look at 407 SWs before settling on my C5, the dash seems to be very heavily button loaded (but would take that over a horrible touch screen. If it's your own car, it's soon the case you can find the button by feel alone without taking eyes off the road, whereas the touch screen needs a visual check and to if you've hit the bit if screen representing a button or a bit of screen that is not a button...)

The big glass roof is great - makes a big difference in my C5 too which would be a very drab somber place without all that light from above.

The rear boot opening on a 407 always surprised me, a huge boot but a tiny boot lid! Rather lets down the practicality of it

That boot entrance looks a rushed job

2.2 EW12 and 3.0 ES9, but petrol models were phased out in 2008 for Europe as they wouldn't meet Euro 5 requirements. I think they sold them for a few more years in other markets like South America and China

That boot looks tiny. I can see now why they didn't make a 7-seater 407sw
