What's the problem(s) with the C3 that is likely to spell its doom Steve?

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Recently had a new head gasket, we could hear a gurgling noise. It had had a new thermostat housing not long before that. Head and block surfaces somewhat buggered, pitted all over. Still gurgling and loosing coolant, not into the oil though. The electronics are a bit haywire, reports of everything broken, although they are clearly not (mostly). Had new springs, six tyres this year, welding, drop links, ball joints, battery, lots of bulb failures and they are nigh-on impossible to change.
It has cost £1800 this year and a grand last autumn. Money pit.
Surprisingly, she drove it to Oxford and back twice before the head gasket, youngest granddaughter invited for a kind of look around.
She is going back again soon, not in the C5 I hope. The school were supposed to organise travel but forgot last time.
Incidentally, did you see the aquarium collapse in Berlin? She (granddaughter) was there the evening previous to it, got home at four in the morning.

Yep, I must agree Steve, that's end of life for the C3...
Just too much going on to justify throwing any more money at it...

Meanwhile over in Christmas Island, in 1977, Seven Swans of the Kelso Pub variety made it to a postage stamp.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Now then, a little amusement should you wish to join in. In the worst case scenario I will amuse myself and complete the task alone, but the opportunity is there...
Everyone will be pretty familiar with the 12 Days of Christmas and the various gifts on each day. In total of course 364 gifts were given by the time the gifts for the 12th day are added to those for the previous 11. Each day all the previous days gifts are repeated so we end up with 12 partridges, 22 Turtle doves, 30 French Hens...etc
So on the "Pubs Gallery" thread I have started a little quest to compile the 12 Pub Names of Christmas reflecting the traditional gifts from the song.

My picture of the day, spotted on my way home from Elstree an hour ago, is a demonstration of how not to start Christmas!!

Roads were a bit slippy here, black ice on roundabouts mainly.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Yes I have a feeling that would have been a possibility. What is not obvious from my pics is that the place is on the exit of a 75° right hander running downhill with negative camber. In rally parlance it would have been called " 75 right opening, neg camber". A little ice last night and that would be the answer to an unaware driver!!CitroJim wrote: 24 Dec 2022, 16:59 Oh dearNot a good start at all to the festivities - unless it was a result of being already a bit too festive...
