2011 C5 X7 rear tail light / reverse light wire guide

Hi All,

I have inherited the above-mentioned car and am fitting a rearview camera to hook into the new 10-inch screen I have already fitted. I am a bit confused when trying to find the power and earth wires in the rear tail light assembly (on the boot lid) - Both sides have different coloured wires, the left hand side has 3 wires and the right has 4 (assuming one is the earth, perhaps the green and yellow cable). But which is the power?

I'll take some photos and post a bit later this afternoon.

The reversing lights on the boot lid (Saloon) are:

Left Hand Reversing, Pin 3 with earth on Pin 2.
Right Hand Reversing, Pin 1, earth Pin 2.

Ignore wiring colours as these are not applicable and change randomly, focus on pin assignment and wiring code on the wiring sleeves repeated every few inches.

Hi I have the same system. I have to attach the Backup camera into the +12v of the reverse light on the LEFT.
Following @GiveMeABreak answer i should splice pin 3 for my LEFT connector

This is the light on top of the moving part of my boot (boot lid in the saloon car)

EDIT: Since I cannot rely on colors, I tried to strip a bit of the fire protection tape but the writing on the cables is illegible. Meanwhile pin numbers are there, I post a picture of LEFT and RIGHT connector
In this case for LEFT the 3rd pin is YELLOW

- I don't have a multimeter, should I try with yellow first ?
- I have a Right Hand Drive (RHD), could it be that the pins are inverted? Beacuse I see the violet cable exaclty inverted (pin1 for LEFT and pin3 for RIGHT)

I borrowed my brother's multimeter and attached to my yellow wire = PIN 3 of the reverse light

I had another camera laying around so I attached it as front camera for parking, it shows up for 10 seconds after reverse.
Setup is simple, attaching only 12V from the canbus
