Hello everyone. I have an issue with my blower (i.e. it doesn't work), and thought I'd come looking for inspiration. I have a 2010 C5 Tourer, and a few days ago when I game to drive on a particularly frost morning the blower, which worked fine the previous day, was completely dead. I checked the fuse, and that's still intact, and when I drive it (now it's defrosted) i get a small patch of heating on the screen which I assume is being forced through as I drive.
I took it to my local Halfords who said they couldn't touch it as it would take too long to dismantle the dash, I spoke to another garage who couldn't get hold of the part, and finally I spoke to the main dealer. They quoted £260 to replace it, but another £144 to do diagnostic check just in case the blower wasn't the issue.
Before I commit to £400 (which isn't far off the value of the car), are there any suggestions as to other routes I should look at?

Hi and welcome to the madhouse, sorry Forum
Have a look at This Thread
Lots of good info along with some added links to other Forum posts. From memory there is a way to jump start the blower motor but cannot remember the procedure think it is buried somewhere within the links in the post i linked to.
