The next thing that caught my eye was this
OOPS! I was way off, but at least you know I looked now.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Your effort was noticed and appreciated, and it was a rather imprecise whatsthisthen!
-------------------------
As it turned out this morning water was flowing through the pipes. Not that the heating had been left on low...I got the boiler's not working call late on last night. Knew what it was but I wasn't going to climb up a ladder in the dark to pour boiling water on the external run of the condensate drain to melt the ice.
That was a first thing in the morning job, and thankfully its back working. Will have to do something about that, longer run inside the house before it exits the external wall but a bit of awkward geography to negotiate based on the siting of the boiler and a long run to the existing drain.

Sunrise over Aberlady, just for Neil.

Why that ends up retained in the box I have no idea. A simple section of plastic drain pipe of a useless size.

I have boxes of #### too and LOML cannot understand why I keep them. However, when all the "little" things that go wrong get fixed, I don't get any thanks for sorting them out. My next door neighbour has twigged it though and realises I can probably fix most things but, even then, the two of them gang up on me to clear all my #### out but agree I am worth keeping "just in case".

Just one of the reasons I persist with my Baxi. I have a complete fire and back boiler for spares or replacement just in case - haven't needed any yet and the Baxi is simple to service.
Just one of the many "piles of ####" I keep.

In the garage trade that was called the glory box. Anything that might be useful and often was. When you took apart a gearbox synchro and one of the ball bearings shot off into space get out the glory box.

Mostly tolerated but the first place I worked here they were forbidden. My line manager called it his 'glory box' that we were forever hiding from the MD.
Next place was worse, we had stacks of them. When the annual audit came around they were all hidden in the false ceilings until that MD had done his rounds.
All crap but you know that as soon as it is dumped it will be just the things you need.

At least you have the real white stuff. Even my path salt is freezing into lumps. Our outside deck is still white with frost and is showing no signs of lifting. Bitterly cold when you venture outside too. I had to hammer the bin lids open to put stuff in the bins - they were frozen solidly shut.

Did you se the Sea Ice near Liverpool a couple of days ago.
My bins needed a good bash to get them open too.
Pleased I shut the outside taps off now. Surprised I heard it in hindsight as I can always hear water flowing through pipes and often think that the heating is on when it isn't. Tinnitus. Always two different water in pipes sounds along with a high pitched scream and the voices. (Don't mention the voices
