A bit of snow here this morning... Lovely to run in whilst wearing trail shoes... It cleans them at the same time!

Quite the winter wonderland :D

It's not a huge amount but that's not stopped our local radio describing it as 'treacherous' travelling if only absolutely critical and advising staying at home... Schools have already declared their intention to close for the day...

Once again, three quarters of an inch of snow grinds everything to a halt... Wonder if the bin lorry will make it through to my house today?

We were supposed to have about 6" of snow on Tuesday night, it's now been up/down graded to torrential rain! It is still very cold here, I am wearing a thermal vest, thick cotton shirt, pullover, fur lined jacket with my dressing gown over the top and I'm still cold.

A two hour meander after dropping daughter's C3 in for MOT, nothing worth taking snaps of.
Max 2° out. Only a summer jacket on,not fastened, no gloves as I lost them five years ago, no hat as I despise them.
Hands a bit cold as carrying shopping but not cold otherwise.
Back home it is bloody freezing. Heating has been off since 22:00 yesterday. On now but 11° feels colder than 2° outside.

That's the difference in heat generation moving Vs sat stationary.

Winter coat fastened up, hat on for me this morning, -5°C said the car when scraping the frost off.

I did a similar shop the other evening in single figure temperatures (probably 1-2°C like you) and had the "fingers dropping off as bought a bit much to carry home" (pretty much every time: hoovering up Aldi's 30% off red stickers!) Combined with the cold and no gloves. Took comparatively ages to manipulate the door keys then my shoe laces with icicle fingers! Not a two hour walk though, only about 5 minutes walk there, more like 8-10 heaving stuff back.cold enough for me.

Sorry curiousity getting the better of me, what do you find so objectionable about a hat? :-D

They look very, very silly.

The last and only time I wore a hat it was a bearskin from the Army and Navy shop.
And that was exceptionally silly. As was the Boer war red uniform jacket with a bullet hole in it.

I love beanies and bobble hats...

I'll rarely be seen out without one at this time of the year... I have a good selection of them too..

Would be nice if a bit familiarity phenonemon could be induced for some other random spottings of Victorian Glory Stars from the FCF membership!

Not one of your specific Victorian stars as such, but Brilliant glass cutting has been featured on Dominic Chinea's (BBC - The Repair Shop) Yootoob channel for the last 2 weeks. It's also on the Red Endangered list for Heritage Crafts in the UK.

Quite cold here today - minus 6.4c when we got up. A bit warmer than Richard's minus 8c but try telling that to my fingers. Just defrosted the car for LOML to go shopping. Notice I didn't offer to do it for her.

I don't think I will be cycling today!

Not a lot of Victorian connection but it does have stars! I would have got a better picture but the sun was burning the back of my neck :-D

So I just went through the workshop to sweep the snow off the car, brushed against something and this is the result. :(

Last night was the coldest so far this winter. Required a bit of intervention first thing.
The little pencil torch is quite useless<br />but did the job!

Decent day for icicle finding though.

The ice-o-meter first thing this morning was at least 3 times as thick as the other night when it was -5.
