Mine is USB 3 and it works fine and they are all backwards compatible with USB 2, so a bit pointless buying old tech just for this IMO. I have several brands and all work fine with my NAC.

Just reporting that using a USB 2 stick worked where a USB 3 didn't for a member of another forum. This was for a SMEG+ unit so may not apply to the RCC/NAC units.

Ok, I put maps update to the another USB flash drive and it flashed well. And then I reflash the main firmware from the another USB flash drive. It finished also well but nothing happened. Still no Android auto.
Current firmware shows as 21.08.87.32_NAC-r1
Citroen app says that there are no more updates.

Ok, so several further things to investigate:

1) What exact model of smartphone (brand and model) do you have.
2) What version of operating system is on the phone?
3) Have you downloaded the Android Auto App?
4) Are you using a genuine branded USB cable (many cheap Chinese cables can cause problems).

1) Xiaomi mi9t pro custom AOP ROM
2) Android 13
3) Yes
4) Original USB cable

The reason is not in the phone, because there is no Android auto button on car multimedia screen.
Thanks.

That's not actually correct.

The CarPlay or Android Auto options only appear when there is a compatible connected device! The screen will not show these options until the device is connected.

The issue is your phone!

See here:

I suggest you follow these posts and see if there is a fix, or get a decent phone.

I still think it is your phone that is not compatible. If you have access to another brand of Android phone and / or another cable, I suspect it will work.

There is no other update, The functionality is built into the Head Unit from factory, unlike the older SMEG units that needed enabling and a software update. All the updates for the Connected NAV or RCC units are available via the app. As you have updated this, it is down to your phone not being compatible.

I have just been to Citroen service center. They scanned a car and told that they need to update my multimedia system to enable the android auto function. And it costs 150 euro. I decided that it's not worth it at the moment. So the reason is in multimedia system. It is a good reason to buy an iphone :)

Very unusual as these are standard features. Maybe you have a slightly older NAC unit?

Anyway, treat yourself to a decent phone. CarPlay works great and if you want to be able to play music files from a USB stick AND have CarPlay active you can always add a second USB cable as there is a second port that not used.

You may think what the point is if you have CarPlay with Apple Music, but personally, I hate Apple Music, and have a huge collection of music that I don't want stored on my phone, so I play all music from my USB and keep my phone uncluttered.

Now I have an android auto.
I assembled the can hack module with Arduino and mpc2515 can shield, connected it to the car obd and activate Android auto with a program. Now everything works perfect.

You can get firmware updates and maps from your Peugeot app when they are available. We don't supply these here...

Hi Marc/GiveMeABreak,

Sorry I am not giving you a break jumping on this thread :)

Just after some advice, so I purchased a 2016 (66 plate) 308 GTI in January of this year and it has come with Apple play. Looking on other 308 forums and asking other GTI owners I have the RCC unit and these were not installed in these cars this early so it must be fitted after market.

The details I have
HMI version: 21.616.53.17.00
IMX version: x01011185_171122_16.1B116
V850 version: W2.1_16. 1S723

I access the mypeugeot app but there are no updates, but reading other threads there are??? I can ony assume my VIN has not been updated to match the unit I have so now updates can be sent through.

Would you know where i can obtain these updates via USB? Overall the unit is good but sometimes it does crash and no sound comes out of the speakers even though the unit is functioning

Thank you in advance
