C5 X7, door sidepocket and doorhandle lights
Hi there! I have a problem. I get my car to carwash and after that it stays outdoors and temperature get below zero. So it get frost a bit. After few hours I started it and it seems to be ok. Everything works fine, but passenger side mirror doesn't turn. So I take and turn it by hand, which might be a mistake.
After that the mirror doesn't fold or take any control. Few days later I found out, that lights in doorhandles in front and doorpockets doesn't work anymore. They used to work before.
So, are these basicly part of same problem, probably fuse? I take all the fuses from inside the car (places a, b and c in left side of the car) and test them by multimeter. They all were ok.
What I'am missing here? Any other fuses in some else places than those and some in enginebay?

Re: C5 X7, door sidepocket and doorhandle lights
The lights in the door pockets and on the handles are LED units, built into the wiring itself if I remember correctly. I suspect what has happened is that there is a break in the door aperture wires somewhere from the A Pillar through to the door. These are protected by a sheath which can be unscrewed / unclipped. You may find one has become brittle in the cold weather and broken.

But why both front door handlbar lights are not working? I think, that there is something common between broken mirror and those lights.

Re: C5 X7, door sidepocket and doorhandle lights
1) Simply because the door storage pockets and door opening control lighting is operated by the BEM (Lighting and memorisation unit). So if there is no power to that then the interior lighting in the door pockets and door handles won't work.
2) The lighting and memorisation unit is actually located inside the door - so that would make sense if the door mirror is also not functioning.
So you need to be looking at the power supply to the mirror unit and the door mirror (and also check the driver's side as this has direct wiring links to the passenger side unit), which is why I suggested a possible break in the door aperture wiring loom.
The lighting memorisation units are shown below as item 6404 and as you can see the weak point is the door wiring loom as it enters the door.

Thanks a lot for that info. I try to search fault from the door cables.

Re: C5 X7, door sidepocket and doorhandle lights
There is no power on comfort things on right door. Mirror warm ok, but it does not turn at all. Lights in sidepocket and doorhandle are also missing. Wires are measured and they are fine in door. With new mirror motor nothing happens.
All the fuses are checked, they all all fine.
Why there is no power on the door? Wires in door harness is checked and ok. At the left side of a car sidepocket and doorhandle light come up, after clearing a faultcode from CAN bus. No effect to the right side. However, lights on left side doesn't work anymore. Could it be a problem with CAN bus anyway?

Pop your VIN up as I only have your C4 VIN and I'll post up the full wiring diagram (please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff).

Re: C5 X7, door sidepocket and doorhandle lights
I got a faultcode 09E4. I can clear it, but it will come back next time, when I start the car. While its gone, lights on doorhandle and sidepocket works on drivers side (left here in Finland), not on passenger side.
Any idea?

That code's not listed anywhere that I can see - not being returned.

Absence of communication with the memorisation lighting unit. Not characterised.
Thats all, what my iCarsoft can tell me about it.

Re: C5 X7, door sidepocket and doorhandle lights
It's one of those codes likely to be from the BSI and they often don't provide much info in either case. So the issue is the same - the unit (s) that I highlighted back in an earlier post are not communicating or they are but intermittently - so still likely to be a wiring issue between the unit and the door aperture I suspect, like a weakened wire.
