C5x7 suspension behaviour
Each time I turn off the ignition on the c5 I notice that the front (and very occasionally, the rear) lowers by a few inches. Is this normal? It does the opposite when you turn the igniting on, that is, it raises a few inches and this is totally independent of you sitting in and adding weight.

Re: C5x7 suspension behaviour
My C5 II does the same thing, so I consider it normal.
However, it's important that it does not fall completely.
Also, if the pump does not turn on after sinking, it's just a car playing around.
I almost always put it in the lowest position before I turn off the engine. Then the pump does not turn on when I open the door and sit in the car and before I start the engine.
It's good for the battery, especially during wintertime.

Yes it is normal.
The X7 undertakes eight correction as soon as the vehicle is unlocked. In anticipation of the car being driven, as soon as an unlocking request has been received, the BHI is awakened by the BSI and height checks are made and corrected.

Re: C5x7 suspension behaviour
Thanks, I did suspect it was supposed to do this. I do wonder why it lowers that bit when the engine is turned off. If I turn the ignition back on without starting the engine it raises back up. Turn off the ignition and it lowers once more at the front. It's almost as if it has a sort of 'parked stance' that is lower than its normal height for some reason. It never does drop right down to the floor though. Anyway, I will not worry about it for now.
