Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Been thick fog here for days now.
When I was last out, the route I took took me up to one of the highest points locally and I could see that the valley was full of fog, bright sun overhead. Looked quite fetching but no opportunity to take any pictures, busy motorway, no lay-bys.

That makes for a magical view, especially at dawn on a cool, crisp morning... A bit of frost can enhance it...myglaren wrote: 29 Nov 2022, 14:33 When I was last out, the route I took took me up to one of the highest points locally and I could see that the valley was full of fog, bright sun overhead. From Last week on the way up to Scotland. Looks more dramatic with the naked eye!

All down to inaccuracy in my use of terminology Alec not proper moonrise, just the moon appearing above the trees on the photo. The "UFO" was car headlights in the distance which many UFO's turn out to beArmidillo wrote: 29 Nov 2022, 21:45 You've got me scratching my head here Neil. The sky seems pretty dark in your photos, but according to Google, moonrise in the UK today should have been between 1:00 and 1:30 pm (and moonset, at just after 10:00pm, would only be happening now). Surely you get some daylight this time of year?

It was cold and foggy today for much of the day here Jim. I had to ride to Guilford to see a consultant at the hospital there. 6.0c the ambient temperature sensor on the motorbike showed, and 5.0c in the heavy fog on the A331. Not much better on the way back.

By no means the first appearance of a composite organism that arises from algae or cyanobacteria living among filaments of multiple fungi species in a mutualistic relationship.

Probably gone the same way as his ignition switch. Now, has anybody got a design for a supplementary comma button on a keyboard?

This is what i had to do to correct his momentary lapse/fit of pique.
this is how far I had to bend it back!
Springy steel tubes can crush and wrinkle. I was super careful to nurse his favourite pitching wedge back to health. Took me 30 mins of careful massaging to correct the two (!) kinks in the shaft.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Apropos the mention by Dormouse of National Benzole in another thread yesterday I deliberately crafted my bike ride route today to grab a picture of an old sign I knew of fairly locally...
Not a good picture and somewhat spoilt by the scruffy Tranny van and having to stand in the middle of a fairly busy junction to grab it!
The bike ride was good, a bit on the chilly side but lovely and dry and crisp... Very invigorating
Perfect training for what will be a chilly Wendover Woods Wicked Duathlon on Sunday...
