I have an ongoing issues with my vehicle and had it booked in with Citroen for a few weeks, finally they are going to look at it tomorrow.
Yesterday though, car would not start.
Battery disconnected (harder than it should be) and it was 10.1v and my battery maintenance tool said it was at 100%, and also would not enter repair mode.
New battery fitted today, now I can see the car is plaugued with low voltage errors among others.
What I had noticed was there seemed to be random exposed wires across one of the battery fuses seemingly pypassing the fuse. I can't for the life of me find out what these do, any other fusebox on the car I can find online easier; unless they are not fuses?
Since it didn't look standard and I also feared that the exposed wire could touch any of the other terminals I've removed it.
Now I've lost connection with the radio module and the car won't go into reverse, it seems to think my foot isn't on the brake pedal.
So what is this second from left fuse for?
or might the radio/reverse completely unrelated and is a symptom from the low voltage errors where hopefully a BSI reset would fix it.
Citroen may tell me what is wrong with the above, and I would hope so when they're charging £120 just to look at it, but since I couldn't find any information online at all on these battery fuses I wanted to pose the question.

Re: Battery 'fuse'
Does that bypassed fuse test as open circuit?
I guess it blew at some point and the bypass was applied as a 'quick and dirty' fix to get it up and running again...
If you bypass it again does the radio and gearbox reverse lockout once again function?

They're called fusible links and you can find them on ebay.

Re: Battery 'fuse'
I would get a minimum of three, replace the original, and see what happens. If the replacement blows then there is an actual problem that needs investigation. However, fuses are (by their very nature) the weakest link in the electrical circuit, and sometimes they just fail (as opposed to blowing for a reason).

Re: Battery 'fuse'
Thanks all,
After showing it to the garage they said someone had done a dodgy repair.
The issue is now (properly) sorted and was the cause of some of the issues I was facing.
