C3 Picasso Driver window
Hey guys, My 2010 C3 Picasso's driver side window suddenly stopped working. Fortunately it is in the closed position, but doesn't work. The passenger side works fine and the fuse under the glove-box is fine. Not sure where to look next.

Re: C3 Picasso Driver window
Did you hear a noise when you attempted to open the window like snap or twang? It's quite possible that the regulator wire has rusted and snapped. If you can hear the motor whirring whilst trying to open or lower the window then this is likely what has happened. If so, don't operate the electric window as you may entangle the wiring if it has snapped.
If this is the case, then you will need a new regulator / regulator wiring.

Thanks for the prompt response, no there's no noise. Just completely dead.

Check if the switch got wet from rain, juice, coffee, etc. That's a favourite for switches dying.PicassoFan wrote: 25 Nov 2022, 13:39 Thanks for the prompt response, no there's no noise. Just completely dead.
Has anyone seen the plot?

Re: C3 Picasso Driver window
The other thing is that the constant opening and closing / banging of the doors can cause one of the electrical connectors in the driver's door control panel to work loose. It happened to me.
On the C3 Picasso, you'll need to remove the black triangular trim from the window corner with trim tools, then remove the door release trim surround with the same.
Next there are 3 bolts - 1 in the oddments recess in the actual window door control pad and another 3 shown below:
Once that is done you need to unclip the door card carefully from the trim clips. Carefully support it as you gently pull it away and you will get access to the underside of the electric window / door control pad. Check to make sure they are all correctly connected. Test the window to see if this fixes it. If not, you'll need to check the wiring as it enters the door from the A pillar to see if any of the wires have broken from the constant opening and closing of the doors.
You may want to try the wiring in the door aperture first if it's easier.

Re: C3 Picasso Driver window
Brilliant, thanks for the answers. I removed fuses F5 and F6 and swapped them around. They were both fine. I tried the window and it worked but... it stops and then you have to press it again and the window moves a bit more..Not sure what the issue is but I suspect a connection that's not secure. Will check the suggestions.

Re: C3 Picasso Driver window
Does the window move up an inch and then stop, and then (when you click it up again) repeat? If so it probably means the anti-pinch system needs to be reset. IIRC the way to reset it is to wind the window fully down, and then take it fully back up (but I know somebody with better knowledge can clarify this).

Re: C3 Picasso Driver window
- Lower the window fully
- Without using the one touch manually raise the window by only lifting the button to the first position and hold it there whilst the window raises.
- If the window stops, release and repeat raising using the first position again.
- Continue until the window reaches the top.
- When your reach the top hold the button at the same position for a couple of seconds until a slight click can be heard (it is very feint though so you may not hear it)
- This completes the reinitialisation of the window and may need repeating on the other windows with anti pinch after a battery disconnection.
A common issue is that water from the windows (rain / car washing jets) gets below the weather seal and enters the door cavity where it can get onto the regulator wires that move the window lifters. Although the water drains out through channels on the underside of the door through a hole, water can get onto the wires and over time will rust, causing stiffness and ultimately the snapping of the regulator wire.
