Peugeot 5008 - Voltage on aircon blower

Hi all,

Switching on the blower suddenly has no effect on our 2012 5008. Measuring the voltage on the 2 thick wires to the blower motor measure 14.5V when it's switched on, and 7V when it's off (I presume this is a floating voltage not real).

Can we conclude that the motor is kaput?

I understand there are separate motors for the 'rear', but they don't work either. That contradicts the assumption the front motor is dead?

I'd be looking at a fuse first of all as it's unlikely that the front and rear have simultaneously gone.

Pop your VIN up and I'll check out the fuses once I know the system you have (please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff).

I checked the 40 Amp fuse in the engine compartment and it was OK. I was searching for a relay near the blower itself, but can't see any.

Ok, so you need to check the Maxi Fuse MF1 here shown at BCP3:

and then the Blower Relay (8048) here:

Thanks for all the info. To conclude, it was the blower itself (open circuit), and measuring 7V is very normal as the system uses a resister-based circuit.

I had great fun dismantling my glovebox on my LHD model (using this video in French then ordering a new part from Oscaro which got damaged in transit, only to be re-sent, then finally reassembling everything to now have a warm car.
