Trailer light problems on my ds5

Unread post by Popikmarik »

Hello to everyone, I have a big problem with my ds5.
4 days ago I connected a trailer to my car and after 20min was showing on dashboard the message: Service and trailer need to be repaired. I connect my Lexia to see what is happening and it’s showing the code b117e and u1f00.
I removed the trailer and it’s the same. Service on dashboard and I don’t know what to do. I have open the socket from the back, I cleaned, I checked the voltage and it’s ok. I checked all the fuses from the compartments. All seems to be ok, I connected another trailer and the light are working. I don’t know how to delete the message from the dashboard. I hope someone can tell me what I can do. Thank you 🙏

Thank you for the answer.
But I cannot found that fuse responsible for this issue.
I search under dashboard, on the engine and backside and I cannot found that fuse. I found on the back 2 modules in the left side but nothing else. I can delete the error but it’s appear again after I start the engine.

You need to check the trailer fuse board. That is the black plastic board in the rear that all the towbar electrics connect to. That is what the BSR (trailer fuse board) is for. There should be fuses on the board for the electrics, but looking at the fittinf diagrams for the official kit, there may not be fuses on this version as it is generic:

Does this look like what you have fitted?

If it helps I can get you the fitting guide for this system. Also pop your VIN up, so I can check this is the one for your vehicle.

I don’t know if is the same but is the original one from the factory. I found that plastic board, but is a screw on the edge and I don’t know how to remove it because is not so much space there.
I will try to remove that to see maybe I can found that fuse. Thank you 🙏

Ok, so have a look at the fitting guide here. It should help you work out where everything is wired back to and the fuses that may be in the BSI after fitting.

Hi,

Old thread, I know. - But can someone tell exactly where this trailer fuse board is located on a 2013 DS5 Hybrid4. According to the install guide (if I interpret rigthly), it should be under the cover low left from steering wheel (LHD vehicle). Also I should find the connector in which to mount wires from the trailer light ECU.

However I see nothing there.... So quite confused :-)

VIN: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

...Okay, answering myself:

The relevant fuseboard is found at the UNDERSIDE of the dashboard, facing downwards towards the footwell. It's nessecary to remove a seperate cover which is not the usual fuseboard cover !!

BTW: On my 2013 Hybrid4 only three of the four fuses supplied with the trailer electrics is to be used (...so probably some differences between model, because I have no error codes now)

I answered to you but the admin didn’t post the answer. Maybe you have the fuse on the left backside. You can found there the cable from the socket. If you look under bumper (backside) you can see the wire and how they come on the car. Just check

It seems in my situation actually the 4th fuse is not really needed. At least everything works without it, and no error codes in Diagbox either
