C3 Picasso 2011 Fault code help please!
So, Mrs. Michel's C3 Picasso, a 1.4 Petrol 2011 model decided to throw its toys out of the pram yesterday. A misfire (prob cyl 2) "Engine fault - repair needed" on the dash panel, and bizarrely, the cooling fan coming on at high speed after only a minute or so of running, whether engine hot or cold. The only way I could stop it was to disconnect the battery.
So, I borrowed Mr. Hellrazor's Lexia and ran a scan.
Results as follows, excuse poor pics.
Oil Pressure control solenoid -
More detail on that..
Then we get onto the Inlet Camshaft Dephaser
A bit more info on that one..
There's also another but that just says there's a misfire on Cyl 2, which I shall fathom out tomorrow. I was running actuator tests on all the coils when the laptop battery ran out.
If anyone could offer some advice on what these errors are, and more importantly, where the parts with errors are actually located, it would be a massive help. I've found the exhaust camshaft dephaser, so I guess the inlet one is in a similar place on the rear of the engine.
Thanks all!

Re: C3 Picasso 2011 Fault code help please!
Given the oil control fault is permanent, and the pressure too high, I'd go after that first. The others may resolve if the oil pressure is correct. I think it's probably a sump off job to get at solenoid...

What a pain in the bum. Fortunately I've had the sump off before and apart from one awkward bolt it's not a bad job.RichardW wrote: 05 Nov 2022, 22:53 Given the oil control fault is permanent, and the pressure too high, I'd go after that first. I shall get the VIN when I get home and ask one of you kind folk to get me some part numbers and diagrams of where they are now I've paid my subs again!
Thanks Richard

Well, the VIN is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]:
I'd like to know where the Oil Pressure regulation Solenoid is, a part number and price.
Same for the Inlet Camshafter Dephaser solenoid
and.. a coil pack.
Do I need to put these on the parts request thread?

Thanks a million Marc, just one thing - is the oil pump solenoid inside or outside of the engine? I'm trying to envisage the locations of all of these nasty little parts.

Brilliant, thanks again Marc. Looks a total pain in the backside, that's for sure! I know what I'm doing next week then...

Re: C3 Picasso 2011 Fault code help please!
Thanks Marc. I have access to a ramp and getting the sump off is pretty easy on that one. I'm wondering if I'll be able to get away without removing the driveshaft - as you'll know yourself, sometimes there are "shortcuts" around such things if one has a person with thin bendy arms and long spindly fingers nearby. I expect I'll use pattern parts for all but the oil pressure part as the others are all pretty accessible. I think the exhaust cam dephaser is the same part number, so I may swap them over to see if that particular fault goes away.

Marc,
Could you be so kind as to have a look if there's a procedure to remove the inlet cam dephaser solenoid please? I'm wondering how much of the car I need to take apart. I put a new coil on pot 2 today, which has cleared the rough running.
