I can regurgitate this post because today 21st October 2022 was an action replay. A Kingfisher spotting day, but the usual Kingfisher evading the camera day.
NewcastleFalcon wrote: 13 Oct 2019, 10:52 My picture of the day was taken with my eyes as opposed to my camera. A creature both great and small, and bright and beautiful, and a genuine thrill any time you see one. I've had to delve into geograph for a picture because by the time you get the camera out they have gone!

Your contributions are invited...and new contributors always welcomed.
I reckon 5 different contributors for a Saturday in photogenic October is a gettable challenge to the membership of the FCF.

See what you can do...

With England 20-20 highlights, F1 USA GP practice and qualifying, Chelsea v Manchester United and highlights from the other games to catch up on it is a day on the sofa for me so no Clicking outside! However I do have a chance to show how SWMBO tolerates the sport domination by indulging in her own cottage industry. She makes blankets for distribution to dog homes and other charities as well as any new borns that come onto the horizon!! :-D

My day today, excepting a bit of work on Bluebell, captured in a collage :-D
20221022_150525-COLLAGE.jpg
parkrun, seeing family for a walk in the woods and testing my racing bike...

See my blog for another potential POTD and the work I did on Bluebell late today :)

The quality of the entries from Club Stalwarts Mick and Jim and my own humble contribution to follow makes 3.

Was 5 just too ambitious...come on two more! Like Mick the indoor shot is still a possibility...

Can you do better than today's bricks from me...I would think so

A massive thunderstorm with spectacular lightning and torrential rain has passed through abut 10 minutes earlier...

It was relatively calm and just drizzling when i took this... It did not last, not in the slightest... See my blog ;)

An hour ago there was a crashing, grumbling (non photogenic) thunderstorm with plenty of rain heading north over Reading. Then this;

Lightning and thunderstorms tricky to photograph. With my point and shoot I think the best chance would be to video a decent frequency event and see what still images can be manufactured from screen shots

We've had the Northern Lights apparently round these parts last night, few local photographs of the bright green with purple above. Have to say those images are probably more of the art of photography, than the naked eye view of the phenomenon. Someone showed me an app with the "red Alert" for the Aurora, but didn't see anything where we were.

A house up the road from here in Easebourne caught fire at 5.00 this morning with a lightning strike. That strike woke me up as it sounded somewhat close :shock:
