Hi, I've got an issue with what looks like a thin plastic pipe from the gearbox and it dissappears up the back of the engine some where. Its rubbed through on the edge of a heatshield for the exhaust. I can't see where it goes to without removing the plastic covers.
Does anybody have any idea part number or if I can cut it an put on a quick connector? It goes into the top passengers side of the gearbox, maybe a 6mm pipe with an outer sleeve for abrasion.

Could be, if you zoom in on the last picture you can see where it goes into the gearbox. That's looking forward from underneath the car. Can I chance a quick connector on the pipe?

If its already leaking you have nothing to loose by trying.

Had a beter look today to see where it goes into the gearbox and it doesn't go up the back of the engine like I first thought, it goes back through the car above the heat shield then I can't see it anymore. Maybe goes up to the clutch pedal but not sure.

i'm quite sure this is the clutch slave cylinder pipe.
Is this a Spacetourer/van with windows/dispatch or a C4 Spacetourer?
A VIN would help, marc can probably get the right part no for you

Re: 2017 1.6 Spacetourer gearbox
Looking at that last pic i’d now say it looks more like the reverse lock cable that connects to the reverse collar on the gear stick.
Yes the VIN would identify the type of gear box fitted etc.

I suspect this is actually the reverse lock cable I have highlighted in red at the bottom of the pic, It comes as part of the gear lever assembly which is over £380.
If its what i think it is i would personally just tape it up then fit a piece of rubber sleeve over it at the bit that has chaffed & make sure it is routed correctly.

Thank you very much for your info wheeler. Now I know its not a pipe it's just a cable I'll get it taped up. Must just be the cover of the cable melted and run down the heatshield.
Thanks again.cheers

Re: 2017 1.6 Spacetourer gearbox
Just to clarify, is cable as in Bowden Cable (like push bike brakes) rather than electrical cable. As said, is reverse lock out (links back the sleeve under the gear knob) worthy keeping the weather out as will go stiff. As suggested sleeving a bit of rubber hose around it with some cable ties would help preserve it.
