Heardle nicks it
Result
Falcon 3 Heardle 4
Original (2 secs); 90's (17 secs); 00's (2 secs)

Big missed chance on the 80's had an open goal at 17 seconds with artist and song but dithered and chose something else and put the shot wide.

Original: Miss, would never have got that.
60s: Vague recognition but ultimately the usual flop.
70s: Not recognised, shame as it isn't bad; No drums.
80s: Thought I knew this one. Didn't.
90s: Another miss, unsurprisingly.
00s: :(. Thought we might have a rap-free day.
Alt 00s: 'Knew' this. Except I didn't, neither the singer nor the song title.

Seems to be a lot of strange noises in the background of that one.

Fed these through amp/speakers as the laptop speakers are so crap that stuff I should know sounds unfamiliar.

Normal day for me, 2secs for the 60s and total wipeout for the rest!! The 60s song was a favourite for me to duet at Karaoke with a mate as I could do the speaking bit!! :-D
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Original: Nope. I don't think I have ever listened to them. So quiet that I turned the volume up and the next one was like thunder :(
60s: Aaaaaaarghhh :(
70s: Miss
80s: Miss.
90s: Miss.
00s: Groan.
Alt 00s: Nope.

A grand total of 0. I discount the sixties one as he is so horrible.

Heardle Hammered as Falcon goes nap
Falcon 5 Heardle 2
60's (17 secs); 70's (8 secs); 80's (17 secs); 90's (17 secs), 00's (12 secs),

Match analysis
Clinical finishing by the Falcon, took every chance, after conceding early.
Heardle grabbed a late consolation when Rap hip-hopped and took a dive for a dubious late penalty.

I start my next 10k with a complete wipeout. They are obviously getting fed up with me as I hit this on the 00s original:

I'm totally baffled by this thread...

Can one of you give me a (simple) explanation please... In my absence from the forum I must have missed something!

Here's my shot at explaining it Jim :-D
There are a series of music intros to be identified each day, Neil posts up the links to them from time to time, most recently just his last post 3 or 4 posts above.

viewtopic.php?p=731710#p731710

There are seven links to 7 intros and you simply work through them link by link and see how many you can identify. They are played in time slots, a bit more each rime you either guess or skip until the max 17 secs is reached at which point the next skip or wrong guess will result in a fail and the answer displayed.

We then just report our results each day. On your first look at eack link you will see a 'how to play' page which should clarify it! Have a look and join in the game - the more the merrier!! :-D

I think Jim on seeing 10K would immediately be thinking that you had taken up running Mick :-D .

It is dominated regularly with with the heardles Jim, but occasionally myself and others throw up more conventional quiz questions to solve. :-D I may have a London Bus one later when the camera's battery gets charged up. :-D Maybe not a great day to start...a wipe-out for Mick, and a bit of a hammering for me. I would wait until tomorrow and give the 60's a go to ease your way in!

Falcon bags a brace but Heardle hits four
Falcon 2 Heardle 4
70's (5 secs); 90's (17 secs)
Match analysis
Missed a good chance on the 60's-right band wrong track, 80's-fans would get it but not me and not a sniff on the rest.

Well here's a thing.... I actually got 5/5 today on the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s & 00s. Admittedly a couple of them were guesses - I knew the band/singer but not the song, but it's not often I can get a clean sweep of the 'Heardles' I play. The drinks are on me today (T's&C's apply).

With the regular heardlers having heardled here's a traditional Pickled Egg Quiz to peruse.
click and it gets bigger
click and it gets bigger
What are the 6 placenames :?:
What are the 4 Passenger numbers :?:
It's one of those quizzes where the answer on the card is the only correct answer. I make no claims as to the accuracy of the bus route number, or the destinations or the passenger numbers. They are what they are as displayed on that particular bus, and it's some time since it travelled the streets of London.

If you do it mark your own papers and post up your score out of 10.
The answers on the card are.
Spoiler: show
Oxford Circus, Whitehall, Westminster, Elephant, Camberwell, Peckham, 77, 40, 32, 5

Yes, 10K only means one thing to me  And that's a standard running distance!

I was wondering if in visiting me Mick, and seeing my collection of medals had inspired you!

Thanks for the quiz explanation all, it makes perfect sense now... Not that I can play  I'm the most useless quiz person you'll ever meet :?
