Unread post by Huskyxantia »

#-o well its the first year anniversary of e10 in the uk or is it.

How's it been for you ?
My death list
1 lawn mower
3 strimmers
2 chain saws

One ride on mower had to change all the fuel lines then went back to E5 all ok now.
Whats your death list
Husky. :? Thinking outside of the box is better than sitting in a dark one.

Haven't noticed any difference. The way the car is used and alternating between E5 & E10 doesn't help much.

For powered equipment I always turn off the fuel and let the engine die of fuel starvation to empty the carb, I also try to keep the fuel tank relatively empty between use so I have to put fresh fuel in the tank on each occasion. That seems to reduce fuel problems for me. I run my hairdryer and V-F-R motorbike on Super so don't have any issues there. For rarely used equipment like strimmers and chainsaws I'd recommend Aspen or similar fuels. It might be bleedin' expensive, but they run a lot better on it and it dramatically cuts down on fuel related issues.

Haven't noticed any difference on either of our petrol vehicles - a 2011 C3 Pic 1.4 and a 2016 BMW F800R motorbike.
2011 C3 Picasso in black - The love wagon.
2016 BMW F800R - the throbber between my legs.

Cool, its the earlier 2000 cars i guess, I've seen the aspen price id say if you have a lot of fire wood to cut then it might be worth the use or very big lawns to mow.

I've been using this since last winter when the carbs on the Z1000 started playing up.
https://english.bardahl.fr/en-us/our-pr ... stabilizer
It goes in anything I've got with a carb, 1980 Z1000, 1995 Zephyr 1100, 2 walk behind mowers over 20 years old, 3 sit on mowers 30 to 35 years old as well as strimmers, a chainsaw and a hedgecutter. So far no problems.
Pete
Notice the BX is still top the list but sadly gone

I got rid of my last carb-fed bike a couple of years ago, but I used to use Silkolene FST, which is much the same thing..

The volvo's ('02 V70) fuel 'economy' raised slightly when I switched to E10 but 20 or so to 22 is hardly a great leap - the C5 isn't affected as it's diesel :D
