Can anyone confirm if these pumps are fitted with a one way valve?

Was looking at a spare one i have a few days ago and they have one way valves.

I changed the pump bulb on my daughter's Vauxhall Vivaro recently and discovered that the colour of the valve (black or white) indicates which direction the flow is. Why might that be important? On the Vivaro (Renault Trafic, Nissan Prrimastar) one end is straight and the other is at right angles. Guess which way round the one I bought was!
