I've had my Partner van, 61 plate, (850 S HDI 90) for over 6 months. I've just locked it and for the first ever time I've noticed the central locking button flashing red every second or so. The button has a padlock symbol on it and is in the central console just above the gear stick. The van still locks and unlocks OK with the key fob.
I've read other threads and it sounds as if it's normal for this button to flash. There's no alarm I don't think but maybe it's showing the immobiliser is on? But why would it start flashing all of a sudden? I'm concerned it will drain my battery?
Is this button flashing normal? Should I be concerned that it suddenly started flashing?
Thank you for your time and help. Adam.

Completely normal & it will do this whether you have a factory alarm or not. I suspect it has always done this & you have just never noticed it.
The drain a blinking LED will have on the battery is negligible.

Thanks very much for your reply.
So it's just showing the immobiliser is on and completely normal. I'm sure I would have noticed it flashing before. Strange how it just started working.
