I had forgotten how hard our garage wall bricks are so drilling the holes for the shelves turned into a bit of a marathon, so much so that I still have 18 more to drill tomorrow. I drilled 20 today and discharged the battery twice so Another day for the rest. Quite satisfied with the four new shelves though:

I managed the rest of the drilling today and got another seven shelves sorted. Two of them are high level in the back left corner and two more high level on the right. Pretty much used all available space now and brought another couple of crates back from the workshop to fill them, I still have a little room left for some of the remaining kit to bring back but I think a shed extension may be on the cards! :-D

Also managed to destruct and dump my four wooden storage units at the workshop so getting close to the final leg!!

Looking at that last photo and the tyre tracks I have a question. Do you only park soft-top cars there as I can't see enough room to open a car door!
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

Not at all Paul, it's made to measure, though sometimes I reverse the car in if I want to work on it in daylight so the tracks spread as I have to get out the other side! :-D

The houses in our close were built in 1971, cars were smaller, current cars struggle to fit in even without any extra tat taking up space, they built my end house so close to the boundary there's no room for a garage unless I built one on the front yard.

Update on the workshop clearance, I completed my 19th dump run this morning with possibly the last of the stuff to be dumped. I am now left with three crates of stuff to bring home and then the furniture to either dispose of or negotiate with my lovely landlady to see if she might like to rent it out with 3 office desks and two metal storage cabinets, 1 filing and 1 tall stationary cupboard. I also have 3 pasting tables looking for a home if anyone is interested? It looks like this after today's efforts: :-D

A little aside from the main clearance task. I brought back the last of the tool boxes from the workshop and set about sorting them out. I was a trifle surprised at the number and variation of persuaders I have gathered so I laid them out for this picture:

I couldn't help but think of an old joke from the 60s but I couldn't find an Irishman to tell him to take his pick!! :-D (No offence intended - it was a 60s joke!!)

I have loads, scattered all over, some here, some at son's and some at daughters, as with lots of other tools.

Have though restored the hammer of sledges to fully working condition. Thor would be proud.

(If you can't fix it you need a bigger hammer).

Also fixed the tumble dryer of much awaiting (six months)
Wasn't too difficult except for the water on the floor at first trial. Cleverly swapped the hoses over :(

Was that a wise move Steve? It can start eating up KWhs now which it couldn't while incapacitated!! :-D

I don't know about wise, wisdom is not anything found much around here, but it being broken was a niggle and the fix was easy and inexpensive £0:00.

I very rarely use it, I find the smell of the clothes unpleasant, this as I can't use fabric conditioner but do chuck white vinegar in when I do use it.
But I have adequate drying arrangements without it, three spare rooms, the boiler cupboard and the preferred whirlygig.

May send it to my son's as he is not so fortunate and has a lodger.

Now that's a plan!!! Should you need it in an emergency you can run the laundry to his place and use his KWhs!! :-D

Update on the garage roof leak as I posted here, today with help from my mate in Elstree we managed to get the gulley split coated with the sealant as I posted and all looks good. No sign of any leak at all today, but that might be because it hasn't rained yet! :-D

I forgot to take any pictures but I also discovered that the seal between the garage roof and our neighbour's property wall looks very flaky and shows signs of some seepage so I will fit new self adhesive flashing tape along that joint when I get home from my trip to Spain, and try to remember to take the pics then!! :-D

Off on our 4 day tour of France, the Pyrenees and the east coast of Spain at 8.00am tomorrow so posts will be few and far between for the next 9 days!! :-D

I have just seen, on the BBC "Animal Park", a dental operation on a tiger (Yana) with a broken canine tooth. These can be up to 7.5cm long (the longest in the feline world). The vet had to use a set of mole grips to remove the tooth! Ouch!
